Tradition Home Group’s follow Friday suggestion this week is Veterans Community Project. The Veterans Community Project, or VCP for short, is an amazing organization that is on a mission to eliminate Veteran homelessness, by providing transitional housing. The organization is focusing first locally on the Greater Kansas City area, VCP aspires to use Kansas City as the blueprint for achieving similar successes in cities across the United States. VCP has a long term goal of eliminating Veteran homelessness nationwide.
VCP is a 501(c)(3) Missouri nonprofit corporation founded by Kansas City Veterans who were frustrated by rampant homelessness throughout the Veteran community. And they are achieving amazing things around our community.
Through contributions and partnerships, they have created Veterans Village, a community of transitional tiny homes with onsite services to provide housing stability and address the underlying cause of the Veteran’s homelessness. This combination of housing stability and onsite services will lead to more successful permanent housing outcomes.
In contrast to traditional homeless services, a tiny home provides the Veteran with privacy, a sense of security, and the ability to reintegrate at a comfortable pace. Veteran services are facilitated through an onsite community center that provides the Veterans with mentoring, case management, counseling, and linkage to other programs and services.
TONIGHT Veterans Community Project is hosting their annual charity concert at Staley Farms Golf Club, the event starts at 7 pm. All proceeds will go to the Veterans Community Project for the Veterans Kitchen at the Veterans Village. There will be live music, drinks, an auction and loads of fun. Tradition Home Group will be there to support this fantastic organization, you should FOLLOW US there too!
