Moving Monday

    Moving Monday

This week, THG is going to focus on a different kind of moving………..

With the focus this month on Breast Cancer Awareness, we are highlighting Making Strides of Kansas City fundraising walk.  Part of the larger, American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer initiative, the Kansas City chapter will be sponsoring a fundraising walk taking place this Saturday, October 27th, beginning at Crown Center.  This week,  you can get “moving” and help raise funds and awareness for Breast Cancer research.

    When:  October 27, 2018

    • Check in starts at 7:30 a.m.
    • Walk starts at 9:00 a.m.

    Where:  Crown Center

    • 2405 Grand Blvd., Kansas City, MO

    • Parking: Free parking will be available in Crown Center parking garages on the East and West side of Grand blvd.

    Details:

Everyone walks together, but it is not a race. Participants are welcome to stop whenever they want or need to. There will be snack and water stations along the route.  You absolutely do not need to complete the entire walk.  Families are welcome, however, please leave your furry friends at home.

There is online registration for easy check-in the day of the walk.  All event participants, including children, need to register.  If you do not register prior to the event, please visit the check-in area.  Same day, on-site registration is also available.

Enjoy the welcome and opening ceremony  before literally “taking steps” to find a cure.  The route is between 3-5 miles, but also includes an optional 1/2 mile walk route.  The walk concludes when the final participant crosses the finish line.

The money raised and donations made help the American Cancer Society fund innovative breast cancer research, provide information and support, and promote prevention and early detection initiatives.  “Come together with survivors, caregivers, men and women from all walks of life who are passionate about saving lives from breast cancer.  Celebrate your shared efforts, inspire each other to carry on, and take comfort in the knowledge that because of your dedication, no one walks alone.”
