On Wednesday We………..Get a Mulligan!
“A mulligan is a second chance to perform an action, usually after the first chance went wrong through bad luck or a blunder. Its best-known meaning is in golf, whereby a player is informally allowed to replay a stroke, even though this is against the formal rules of golf.” In other words, its a do-over!
With it’s origins in golf, this term achieved widespread use in the 1940’s. Although there are some conflicting stories of just who the “Mulligan” was who inspired this term, it is clear that the word, at it’s simplest, conjures the desire for an opportunity to erase a poor result. Who hasn’t wished for that, at least a time or two?
So today, on National Mulligan Day, go ahead, take a do-over! You deserve it. Just remeber, this day comes but once a year. Use it wisely!
