THG Tip Tuesday
THG Tip Tuesday today is all about what you can do to improve your home without spending a penny. You can make your space look brand new for free, by rearranging your furniture. Rearranging your furniture in a room can create a more open space, utilize unused areas and create a new look for your already owned and loved home decor. You can do small things to make sure that all the areas of your home flow in a cohesive pattern with each other.
While you are moving furniture, rugs, paintings and home decor around this is a perfect time to de-clutter your space. By minimizing the amount of things you have in a room you help bring attention to the special pieces of home decor you have on display.
Another tip you can try for free is to make your living space Feng Shui. Feng Shui has origins in ancient Chinese principles of balance and environmental harmony. The idea is to make your living spaces peaceful therefore encouraging positive energy into your life. You can utilize the feng shui ideas and adjust a room’s flow by incorporating all of the elements in the decor itself. These elements include fire, water, earth, metal, and wood. In general, a balanced home will have an even spread of all of these elements throughout its living spaces. This may mean simply incorporating the physical elements themselves, such as a metal-backed chair, potted plant, wooden bench, decorative fountain, and candle.
Making a diagram or sketch of where you possibly want the furniture you are rearranging is also very helpful. Sometimes when we see something on paper it can help you decide whether or not that a piece would fit properly, without doing the heaving lifting.
